If you have booked your device in for liquid damage repairs. Please read the following.
To date, we have dealt with the following types of liquid:
Water, Coke Cola, Orange Juice, Apple Juice, Tea, Coffee, Red Wine, Bathwater, Monster energy drinks, Beer, Hot chocolate, Prime "by kids", Lemon Tea, Blackcurrant, Lemonade + more that we have forgotten to add or remember here.
So liquid damage can be fatal, especially if you turn it on right after you have spilt something on it.
Croydon Computer Medic, works alongside another 3rd party engineer who specialises in liquid damage repairs and circuit board-level and is a qualified professional engineer.
We've done repairs in liquid damage in various countries like Montenegro, Africa, Ireland, Spain and the UK, and nobody has ever come back.
We offer a 6-month warranty on all liquid repairs carried out.
On some occasions we need to fully repair the motherboard by taking the entire contents of the laptop or Macbook fully apart and using certain cleaning chemicals in the industry go ahead and clean it all up, and air dry it for a while, then we use technical electrical testers to determine all is well and can see this on a screen we use to diagnose further faults, we then repair those faults and put it all together and test it for functionality and powering up.
In the event we can't fix your device due to it being too expensive to repair, The engineer reserves the right to charge a diagnostic fee of £50.
This is due to the fact he has to diagnose open and remove parts to put new parts to make the device turn on and load up.
A CPU or GPU could be dead due to the liquid touching and shorting it out, So we need to purchase a new or reconditioned one to get it started again and this takes time. It could be a dead capacitor or resistor in technical talk, So we have to charge for repairs like this.
In most cases, we can even try to save your data where possible in most cases it is possible.
Time estimates for liquid damage can vary anything from 1-3 weeks, but often is done ahead of this time. I give these lengthy times out as my 3rd party engineer does a lot of repairs daily for me and other businesses as well so joins the queue to be done.
However I do, do my utmost to get it repaired in advance of the time limit being given to you in person.
In most cases, I will text you an update by text on WhatsApp to keep you posted on developments and timeframes to return to you.
However please note that we have to source parts from abroad mostly in China as they are leaders in the market, So there will be slight delays reaching us here in the UK due to courier and shipping and customs checks and deliveries by various suppliers.
We'll always look to the UK first for parts but sometimes we need to source them from abroad as are hard to get here in the UK.
If you pay a fee in advance for liquid damage and we clean and try to repair it and for whatever reason you require the device back whether fixed or not, you will forfeit the £50 fee as this is to cover the cost of the engineer working on your device whether cleaning it, unsoldering and resoldering old parts back, and rebuilding it, this can take hours to do, and engineers need to be paid for this time.
Good luck and remember I am here for you to serve you in repairing your liquid-damaged devices.
Any work carried out by Croydon Computer Medic – or by 3rd party engineers that have not been collected from Croydon Computer Medic within 3 months from the date of completion of said works, even if paid for or not in advance will forfeit the return of such devices, whether its a Laptop, PC, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, or iMac, or any other device new or old.
No claim after this will be accepted and this is final as per our business model and policy.
Due to the nature of the work undertaken by Croydon Computer Medic and other 3rd party engineers, there is always some risk when working on upgrading/repairing PC hardware, (testing and upgrading can stress components that would otherwise not have been tested as would have been working previously).
I work following the best practices to avoid placing any unnecessary risk on your hardware.
But in some cases damages can be hidden from view, until taken apart it can be apparent there is a fault or damage that needs to be addressed.
In some cases replacing a component on a laptop whereby it has been liquid damaged for example can cause problems down the line with other components, incurring other charges along the way, but I do test everything so that this does not happen.
By leaving the hardware with me you are confirming that you are happy to accept this liability and agreement.
Once work is completed we request that you arrange collection at the earliest possible time when I say it is ready for collection.
Failure to collect your hardware or to respond to communications may result in your hardware becoming forfeited and being disposed of as we see fit. I always wait at least 3 months before taking this course of action. After which no claim for compensation or otherwise can be made.
If leaving chargers with us to use, please ask us to mark them as we use invisible ink to write your name and number on them so that we know who they belong to.
This is to avoid confusion later on to say whether you have left a charger or not with me.
Croydon Computer Medic accepts no liability in respect of any problem(s) caused by any non-Croydon Computer Medic-approved technicians working on your system(s).
Any work required to fix and damage your equipment or errors caused by any third party which we hire to support me will be paid out at the 2nd hand-priced value in the market or at the prevailing rate and chargeable by us to fix.
In the event of any dissatisfaction with the service provided by Croydon Computer Medic, please contact me immediately to discuss the issues encountered within 7 days from the completion of work.
Within the scope of the originally agreed work, Croydon Computer Medic will always endeavour to come to a mutually satisfactory outcome in the event of any dissatisfaction with any service or goods provided; customer service is my number one consideration.
For issues unrelated to our work completed, or outside the scope of my agreed work, Croydon Computer Medic – I'm not responsible.
If in any case, it does happen that after leaving me, you take your device to Apple or a Windows laptop manufacturer for support later and they repair any fault(s) then you must include an original letter-headed engineer’s report of works done and be stamped by the provider of said company. This is to avoid fraud.
Each party shall take all reasonable steps to ensure that the other’s confidential information to which it has access is not disclosed or distributed by its employees or agents in violation of these conditions.
I acknowledge that “Customers” “Clients” confidential information includes any designs, plans, software or other materials created by Croydon Computer Medic in connection with the services and a party may disclose the other party’s confidential information to those of its representatives who need to know such confidential information for the permitted purpose.
A party may disclose confidential information to the extent as allowed by law, and information is required to be disclosed by law, by any governmental or court action to enable the smooth transition to a good outcome.
Where notice of disclosure is not prohibited, it takes into account the reasonable requests of the other party in relation to the content of such disclosure it's to be handed to.
The provisions of this clause (confidentiality) shall continue to apply after the termination or expiry of this agreement.
Unless otherwise stated and agreed by either party in the applicable estimate or quote, payment for parts will need to be paid in advance of work starting, and by bank transfer, which I can provide on the estimate/quote for Croydon Computer Medic.
The final balance due for the engineer's labour can be paid upon collection of the device being fully repaired and you're happy with the work.
If no payment has been received in part for parts, no work will be undertaken until we have received payment first.
Estimates or quotes are valid for 7 days only with Croydon Computer Medic as costs vary and change each week with the suppliers I choose and use often.
Upon receiving your equipment to Croydon Computer Medic, I will log your details on a database for reference and invoicing purposes.
In some cases, I will need you to pay a diagnostic fee to my 3rd party engineer, but you will be informed of this if it happens.
A £45 diagnostics fee to myself will need to be paid upon arrival at my premises, as it takes time to open a laptop or device, service & diagnose it and give my verdict on the problem.
If you call me out, I do not charge for call-outs; however, it may be difficult to diagnose over the phone costs regarding your problem(s). It could be you have not told us something, or failed to tell us of a change made etc, until I have seen it, and diagnosed the problem the fee would need to bne paid before I leave.
Therefore a minimum cost of £45 will need to be paid after I have inspected the device or device in your home or business. This is regardless of how short or long I have been at your home or business premises.
Due to COVID-19 I currently don't do home visits in the borough but if you're registered disabled and you have mobility issues I can make exceptions to come to you by scooter or Uber taxi ( to be paid for by the client at the earliest chance available) and I will be covered with a mask where possible and available.
However, if you pay this fee, by cash or bank transfer, to me onsite at my workshop then any further work done this £45 fee will be taken off the final bill invoiced.
In the unfortunate event that a non-payment occurs, I will pursue the matter through the small claims court, and you may be found guilty and additional charges and compensation will incur with bailiff action being sanctioned by a court judge to retrieve money owed.
All work done by Croydon Computer Medic, or any of the 3rd party engineers I might use to repair your device or devices, may carry a 3 or 6-month warranty.
(Please enquire as to which one is available to you at the time of repair)
Should you have a problem that requires your device to be bought in for further repairs or diagnostics, then no additional payment is required, unless it is something that has been tampered with after leaving my workshop you may have to pay an additional fee to cover the cost of repair again or to rectify the problem.
If for any reason you take away from me or a 3rd party engineer I use, and later develop errors, We have the right to investigate the problem first, and if found to have been tampered with the device, or damage has been caused by the owner of the device or software used; you may be liable to pay an additional fee to rectify the problem which takes us time to rectify.
If moving or removing a device or part(s) after work has been carried out on the said device, after I have worked on it, and it becomes faulty you may be liable for additional costs also.
I pride myself on giving the best service possible and guarantee that you will get the best personal one-to-one service possible.
I would appreciate it if once you have left your device & it's been repaired and you are fully happy, that you kindly leave a review on Google for others to see.
In the event that you are not entirely happy and that doesn’t happen very often, Please get in touch with myself to sort the problem out as best as I can.
All feedback left in Google will be followed up by myself with careful thought into the response for all to see.
This has only happened once in 14 years though.

Any change to the scope of the work, including a change to any stated assumptions or the customer changing their mind and wishes for something else to be done, may result in the quotation being made invalid or amended to add the service or parts required and will increase the bill further.
Should this occur an updated quotation will be issued to replace the previous version from Croydon Computer Medic.
